_Michael has been practising law for over 15 years and has in-depth knowledge of the banking and finance sector and assists local and international clients on a wide range of legal issues, with particular emphasis on Bank Lending transactions.

Involved in the Fund Finance space for over a decade, he also has cutting-edge expertise in Fund Finance transactions. Michael is assisting financial institutions lending to any type of Luxembourg investment funds within a wide range of fund finance transactions including subscription facilities, NAV facilities, hybrid facilities, GP and management fee facilities and other bespoke fund finance transactions.

Michael has been awarded in 2021 by the Fund Finance Association for his annual contribution to the industry, which is the highest recognition in the fund finance space. He has been speaker at Fund Finance Association events and is author of various fund finance focused publications, including a Chapter in the GLI Fund Finance Law and Regulation 2021.

He is the host of our recognised industry focused webinar, the Fund Finance Series, where he meets with global experts for in-depth discussions.

In addition, Michael practice covers Capital Markets and complex local and cross-border corporate operations of financial institutions. He authored the capital markets section of the Code des Sociétés et des Sociétés Cotées (Companies and Listed Companies Code), a book of reference on the topic, published by Legitech.

After having started his career with Wildgen from 2006 to 2011, Michael worked for a Luxembourg Magic Circle law firm and resumed his role with Wildgen in 2020.

He has been a member of the Luxembourg Bar since 2007 and is author of various legal publications. Michael is Co-Chair of the Capital Markets Union Technical Committee of the LPEA (Luxembourg Private Equity and Venture Capital Association). Michael is also member of the Sustainable Finance Working Group of the ABBL (The Luxembourg Bankers’ Association).

  • LLM in commercial and corporate law (University of London, Queen Mary & UCL Consortium - United Kingdom),
  • Master’s degree in private and commercial law (University of Brussels - Belgium).
