Jean-Luc Dascotte - Partner

Jean-Luc qualified as a Belgian lawyer in 1995 and gained a Masters in Tax Management from Solvay Business School, Brussels, in 2001. For several years he has been a member of a top Benelux Law Firm specializing in tax optimization, successively based Brussels, Paris and Luxembourg building local knowledge and professional network. He is a member of the Luxembourg, Paris and Brussels Bars. In June 2006 he decided to join Wildgen in order to reinforce and further develop its tax practice. He became a partner in January 2008.
He heads the tax department advising a worldwide clients database on both corporate and individual tax planning opportunities involving Luxembourg. His dedicated team advises clients on international
tax planning, beginning with the structuring and conception phase through to the
implementation and domiciliation of the required vehicles. Jean-Luc has specific
expertise in corporate financing – including innovative hybrid instruments, M&A
transactions, funds structuring, venture capital and private equity vehicles through
dedicated SICARs and SPFs, securitization, tax due diligence and real estate
investment.
He is also a member of
several working groups, currently concerned with maintaining Luxembourg’s
status as a financial centre in an ever-increasing competitive market through
legislative evolution and innovation. Jean-Luc has been a member of the working committee preparing the law on the newly created Société de gestion de Patrimoine Familial.
He is a regular contributor to Tax Notes International, and is a frequent speaker at tax conferences both in Luxembourg and abroad. He recently covered Luxembourg for an edition
of 'The Use of Offshore Jurisdictions' (Sweet & Maxwell Ltd).
